Setting up your Castgrabber
CastGrabber is easy to set up. No technical ability is required as we do all the work for you. If you can operate iTunes or an Internet Browser, you already know everything you need.
Connecting the CastGrabber

  1. Plug in power and the Ethernet cable provided (one end in your router, the other to CastGrabber).
  2. Wait a minute or two until the light turns green; this assures that you have the latest CastGrabber software.
  3. Connect the USB cable that came with your iPod/MP3 player to the back of the CastGrabber.
That is it, connection complete.
Registering your CastGrabber Before downloading podcasts, you need to register your iPod/MP3 player with the CastGrabber server.
  1. Follow the "Connecting the CastGrabber" instructions above.
  2. Go to the CastGrabber playlist on your iPod/MP3 player and look at the song title. This is your CastGrabber registration key.
  3. Enter registration key into the registration blank at http://castgrabber.net/podcasts/logon.php.
  4. Enter at minimum a password and user name
You are now ready to select your podcasts.

There are two ways to subscribe to podcasts, through iTunes software (for iPods) or via the Internet using your browser (everything else).
Podcast selection for iPods: With your iPod connected to the CastGrabber or your computer, synchronize the iPod with iTunes. If you wish to do this through the CastGrabber, be sure you download and install the PC software from our Web site. CastGrabber now has all your podcast subscription information. There is no need to synchronize again until you change podcasts selections or transfer content from you library. Unplug your iPod from the CastGrabber and reconnect to check for podcasts immediately.
Podcast selection for all other MP3 players:
  1. Log in to the CastGrabber (or partner site) with the information you created your account. http://castgrabber.net/podcasts/logon.php or the "Podcasts" tab on the CastGrabberr home page.
  2. Go to the "Media Directory" to select browse or search thousands of podcasts.
  3. Press the "subscribe" button to choose podcasts.
  4. Plug in your MP3 player to the CastGrabber.
Podcasts will appear on your MP3 player automatically, every time a new one is available.
